Chicago Religious Leadership Network


Responding to the call of Latin America’s poor majorities, the Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Latin America is an interfaith education, action, and advocacy network. CRLN equips and mobilizes religious leaders and congregations to advance peace, justice and human rights in our hemisphere. Through speakers, workshops, monthly membership updates, advocacy action initiatives, delegations to Latin America, and meetings with U.S. policy-makers, CRLN engages religious communities and leaders to speak out for just U.S. policies.

Deborahs PlaceDeborah’s Place breaks the cycle of homelessness for women in Chicago. Through a continuum of housing options, comprehensive support services and opportunities for change provided by dedicated volunteers and staff, women succeed in achieving their goals of stable housing, sustainable income and greater self-determination. Deborah’s Place is Chicago’s largest provider of supportive housing exclusively for women and is recognized as an innovative leader among homeless service providers locally and nationally. Since our founding in 1985, we have worked collaboratively with our participants, offered a range of high quality services and tried new approaches – putting Deborah’s Place at the forefront of agencies making a difference to those in need in Chicago.

Good News Partners


Located in East Rogers Park, is a 32 year old faith-based community organization that provides affordable housing for homeless families with a step-by-step transition from interim housing to independent living.  Our housing options include (1) New Life Interim Housing, serving homeless women and children; (2) the Jonquil, an SRO, accommodating 58 families; (3) GNP subsidized rental housing, and (4) 60 units of co-op housing affordable for families with very low incomes.

Institute of Women Today


The Institute of Women Today was started in 1974 by a group of interfaith women who advocated on issues affecting women and children. Today IWT operates Maria Shelter, a 50-bed interim housing facility for homeless women and their children, and the Vincennes Senior Center, which offers senior citizens a place to socialize, enjoy a nutritious meal, and learn new skills. Both facilities are located in the Englewood community of Chicago, one of the most economically deprived areas of Chicago.

Teen LivingTeen Living Programs delivers comprehensive, long-term solutions to youth without homes who strive for self-sufficiency and community connection. Teen Living Programs offers housing, job training, educational support, mental health counseling, holistic health care, and life skills training within a community of professional and passionate support. TLP’s comprehensive, long-term approach to youth homelessness reduces the number of youth who might otherwise become homeless adults. TLP also limits youth homelessness from taking root through its outreach and prevention programs in neighborhoods and schools.

The Cara Program assists motivated individuals affected by homelessness and poverty to transform their lives and achieve real, lasting success, by providing comprehensive training, permanent job placement, and critical support services. The comprehensive nature of The Cara Program takes into account the need to support Cara students as they transition into the workplace. Over 100+ Chicago area companies hire Cara students and hundreds of parents have reclaimed custody of their children.

The Emergency Fund


The Emergency Fund provides immediate financial assistance to help low income Chicago area individuals and families through a crisis or transition. In 2004, The Emergency Fund for Needy People merged with My Brother’s Keeper, and the organization grew to become the largest provider of homelessness prevention funds in the Chicago area.  It was at this time the Fund shortened our name to Emergency Fund. Together with our partners, the Emergency Fund provides financial assistance as well as other resources, as needed, to help families and individuals in need avert crises.
