of The Pursuit of Happyness, was honored at La Casa Norte's s annual

Foundation representatives including Tasha Pierce visited The Cara Program this spring to catch up with Cara staff, and see the technology training center made possible by a gift from Pierce & Associates. Support from The Pierce Foundation and from Pierce and Associates helps The Cara Program to create opportunities for motivated individuals to realize their potential, break the cycle of homelessness and poverty and forge paths to success . The training center helps Cara students work on their job searches and strengthen computer skills.

In December, the Foundation sponsored a Hanukkah party hosted by AVODAH Jewish Service Corps for all of the year-long, faith-based service corps programs in Chicago. This lively event had over 90 attendees from AVODAH, Amate House, Brethren Volunteer Service, Jesuit Volunteer Corp, Lutheran Volunteer Corp, Mennonite Voluntary Service, and The Julian Year, and helped participants get to know each other and share experiences. Held at the Inspiration Too cafe, this first-ever gathering for these groups was so successful that it will become an annual event.
